It has come to the attention of the Police Department that many citizens are receiving letters from a person identifying themselves as Mrs. Ella M. Fernandez. They are claiming they got their name and address from the Chamber of Commerce. They are claiming they have a business proposal that will be good for everybody ndicating there is an abandoned sum of money in the amount of 15.5 million dollars located in a safety deposit box in Spain.
None of this is true. They did not obtain names and addresses from the Chamber of Commerce. They say that in an attempt to obtain the confidence of the reader. There is no money in any abandoned safety deposit box. It is a scam. What the letter is attempting to do is to entice someone to make contact with them so they can "talk" them into participating further. It will cost you money. If you receive such a letter, do not respond to it. Throw it way. Do tell everyone you know about the letter and advise them it is a scam. Remember there is nothing free and if it sounds too good to be true, it is!!!!!
