An 8 inch water main broke on Camden Avenue near the West Main Street intersection at 9 AM on November 23rd. After completeing repairs on a 1 inch lateral water line and refilling the excavated site with soil the nearby water main burst causing the newly filled hole to scour directly under the rear of the City dump truck causing the rear of the truck to sink into the large hole wheel deep.
City Crews worked diligently to staunch the flow of water and extricate the truck from the sink hole. By the end of the work day hard working Utilities and Public works employees had the repairs completed and service restored.
